San Andres & Providence

Flanked by white sandy beaches the islands of San Andres and Providencia are located in the south-western Caribbean Ocean.

San Andres is the more popular of the two Islands and frequently visited by Colombian and foreign travelers. Due to its accessibility and popularity, accommodation choice is far greater than that in neighbouring Providencia and there is an eclectic choice of restaurants, bars and nightlife.

Providencia is comparatively underdeveloped with as laid back genuine Caribbean feel, enticing those looking for peace and tranquility, beautiful beaches in hidden coves and is home to some of the best diving opportunities in South America

Brightly painted wooden houses are scattered amongst the coconut palms and both islands are home to a patois form of English, a relic of the days the English pirates found refuge from their attacks on the Spanish Main in Cartagena. San Andres is connected with daily flights from the mainland and inter island flights allow travelers to make the short 30 minute journey to Providencia. These Caribbean islands are perfect for those wanting to relax by the crystal clear sea and soak up a Colombian Caribbean atmosphere.
